A very stylish and non-messy all in one from Dell, with myriad connectivity options and operating system support. The cost of this printer is on the higher side, but it makes up for it with its long and heavy duty cycles and economical service costs. The output quality for the printer is good though the colour scanner output could have been better.
Dell 1815dn has a print speed of 25 ppm in black text and 27 ppm for grayscale, which is a little surprising as usually grayscale takes longer to print than text. Colour scans happen at 5 ppm with a copy speed of 27 ppm. The initial Dell 1815dn Toner Cartridges give a life of about 3000 pages but the same can be extended to up to 5000 pages with high yield toner. The maximum print resolution is 1200x1200 dpi with an optical scanning resolution of 1200x600 dpi. A high monthly cycle of 25,000 pages is a really good one and can also serve offices with heavy print requirements.
The compact design of Dell 1815dn has 2 trays with the capacity of 250 and 50 pages each, there is also an option to increase it to total 550 with an optional 250 pages tray. As the trays are inbuilt, the pages remain dust free, helping to get better quality.
The connectivity options are USB 2.0, USB 1.1 and ethernet. With multiple OS support and heavy duty cycle, most of the requirements of a medium-sized office will be fulfilled by this single machine. Low cost per print, long life only add to the advantages.
